Astrological Energy Shift: Spring Equinox - March 20, 2023
It’s been quite a long winter for those of us in the northern hemisphere, hasn’t it? Of course, the winter is always the same amount of days/months, but this time around we’ve been pounded by rain, snow, and exceptionally-extreme weather conditions. But now, thankfully, we can breathe a breath of fresh air because the equinox is upon us!
The sun was previously in the final sign of the zodiac - Pisces - which means that we’ve just completed a cycle. Moving from the sign of the fishes to fiery Aries is quite a leap energetically. While Pisces made our dreams more real, our imaginations more vivid, and our subconscious motivations more prominent, Aries inspires us to take everything that we’ve learned and begin to make real, concrete moves to create the life that we desire. This isn’t hard to do, as the return of the sun awakens our vitality.
It’s time to live with childlike wonder again, as Aries is the child of the stars. This also means feeling invincible, like the master of your world, and completely in awe (but accepting of) your personal power. In this turn of the season, however, we must be mindful not to come across as too arrogant, and to respect the wisdom of those who have gone before us. You can learn much by observing the journey of others.
Maximize This Energy
Now that we’ve entered into Aries, we find ourselves in the domain of The Emperor. This is very much a Mars-fueled situation (the sign’s ruling planet), as this tarot card relates to positions of power and taking charge. The card depicts the animal that’s associated with Aries itself - the ram - which says a lot about how this energy is manifesting for us. We must not come across as too domineering or controlling under this fiery influence, or we risk pushing others away.
Go Deeper
The equinox is a special time when we experience equal day and equal night. This brings balance into our lives and urges us to take pause and reassess. Take note of what arose for you last March, at the start of the zodiacal cycle. If you have a journal or diary, you can flip to that period. Alternatively, you can try searching through your social media to discover the people, places, and situations that were prominent in your life at that time. What did you learn over the previous year?
Love and light.
