It is nice to be considered brave, strong, and smart- it makes us feel good and capable. Compliments lead to confidence, and confidence can get us anywhere. Take the chef who felt capable of opening his own restaurant because loved ones had raved about his cooking expertise. The residents of the chef's community are grateful for a wonderful new restaurant, and they are grateful to the people who encouraged the chef to open it.
