In her book No Greater Love, Mother Teresa relates a story about a wealthy woman who asked how she could share in Mother Teresa's work. As the two women talked, Mother Teresa complimented the woman on her beautiful sari. The woman confessed that she sometimes spent as much as 800 rupees on one sari. Mother Teresa mentioned that her own simple sari cost only 8 rupees. She suggested that the next time the woman bought a sari, she could spend only 500 rupees and use 300 rupees to buy saris for the poor. Mother Teresa wrote, "The good woman now wears 100-rupee saris and says this has changed her life, assuring me that she has received more than what she has given."
TODAY I WILL GO THROUGH MY CLOSET AND FIND ONE ITEM TO DONATE TO CHARITY. SOMEONE OUT THERE LIKELY NEEDS IT MORE THAN I DO.
